Wendy Cummins
Wendy is a multi-disciplined artist living on the northern beaches. Having always led an active, outdoor life she finds connection, calmness and inspiration in the natural environment and this is very evident in her work.
As a mostly self-taught artist she describes herself simply as a creative and her practice as being drawing based. She has a love of material and texture which results in the use of many mediums in her work including pencil, graphite, charcoal, watercolour, guache, ink and more.
Wendy’s recent work with wool and textile is made up layers of colour, line and texture to build sculptural images. She calls it ‘drawing with wool’. Her work is slow, meditational and tactile and gives her a strong and satisfying connection to both her work and subject.
